The legacy of Assamese cuisine is no laughing matter.
Numbering amongst one of the most flavourful and healthy cuisines offered by India, Assamese cuisine is rich in taste, variety, and stories told between generations.
Developed around the Assamese staples, rice and fish, you’ll find a cuisine prolific in various meats, green vegetables, and plenty of local spices.
An important thing to note is: Assamese food is one of the most accommodating regional cuisines when it comes to travellers that cannot stomach spices.
